Samsung Ends Production.. Bye Bye Galaxy Note 7

And in the big picture just because they are halting current production doesn't mean all is lost.... At this point they don't know what the issue is so why continue to manufacture them. I am going to stay as optimistic as I can.

Samsung Note 7.5

I'm waiting as long as I can before I do anything. My biggest complaint is I will get locked into a different device then when the Note 8 comes out I'll have to pay off a phone I didn't want to begin with. When I would ha e kept this 7 at least 2 years. There needs to be some clause added that those of that had the 7 will be able to get the Note 8 without penalty or something.

I don't think you will ever see a Note 8. The name is tarnished.. If Sammy did launch a device labeled "Note" it will never sell.

I disagree. Samsung can recover from this, especially if they have a strong showing from the s8. A lot of people didn't want to return their note 7s so I see the name has not tarnished yet. They just better bring it with the 8.

Disagree all you want.. It's simply marketing 101.. Much too much risk..

I hope not! I have had the notes since N2. I love my notes and the s-pen. I will be one consumer that anxiously awaits for the next note. I am also more confident in Samsung solely because I think they handled this debacle very well, imo.

You will get what you want.. It just wont be called a "Note.xxx"

I am going to guess they will push an update to the phone where to disable the charge or something like they did for the first recall for the people who did not want to exchange. I am probably going back to LG G3 and patiently wait till next year (maybe)..

I would settle for a refund instead of replacing it and having a payment plan on a phone you do not want.

Look around.

What manufacturer or product out there have shown to be able to compete.

LG have potentially the best device of the year next to the note and no one knows about it. Outside of the hard core no one knows what a pixel is. Motorola and HTC have fallen off and the iPhone is predictable.

Samsung can market the 8 by owning they made a mistake and will make it up with the 8. And people will flock. And that is because people are dying for something cool and hip and the note is at the level of the iPhone.

But we can go back and forth all day but the reality is we will have to see and ride the wave.

My fear is also that the Notes are doomed. As soon as a new one is released some jerk with cook it to grab headlines and start this all over again. If I were to get a refund do I have to give back the Gear2 (not going to happen). I know of no other 64gb phone with a microSD slot which was my prime mover (the S-pen was a bonus).

When I first got the Note 4 it felt large. Now everything else feels too small!
