The new flagship device from Samsung is now officially outed, and what better way is there for the device to strut its stuff than to run through a few benchmarks? Phonearena ran Quadrant, AnTuTu and Nenamark on the device, to some spectacular results, and captured it on video (shown above). Enjoy!

Yea the benchmarks are crazy but when you watch someone just use the phone as normal, it's not much if any faster than what is out now.

True, it just makes the phone a bit more future proof when it comes to new features in Android that require more 'oomph' from the hardware.

Yea, I'm sure the need for more "oomph" is right around the corner! :p Only something like 7% of phones have ICS and most apps have not been updated for ICS. Things are moving at a snails pace :)

Methinks that the only way to "future-proof" a phone is to:
1. Go to the future, get a phone, then come back to the present time with that phone or...
2. Bring upon the apocalypse so that the phone you have now will suffice until the human race can rebuild society.

Point being: because cell phone technology is excelling by leaps and bounds, it's virtual impossible to "future proof" them. A phone with a 1.2 Ghz Dual core processor and 4.65 screen, that came out 4 - 5 months ago, is now old compared to a 1.4 Ghz Quad Core phone with a 4.8 inch screen. This same phone will be old another 3 - 4 months from now. It's the nature of things I guess.
