Samsung Has A New Galaxy S With Dual Core Processor With Amoled Plus Screen!

Just a quick question from a droid 1 user.

I rooted my droid and I could get 2.1, 2.2 and now 2.3 long before the official update's. So, If samsung doesn't provide support and has a unlocked bootloader, why can't you root it and update it yourself like I do with my droid?

You can when someone builds a rom and finds a way to root it/flash the rom. The roms you are using are built from sorcecode so someone has to build it pretty much from the ground up

ok but has anyone done this for like the fascinate? I tried to google "2.2 for fascinate" but I didn't find anything except people complaining.

I don't care if I get official update's as long as I can get unofficial updates.
