saving text messages?

I see how to delete and entire text thread on my phone...that's easy...but, does anyone know of a method for saving an entire thread? I know they can be forwarded individually. I'm looking for an easier method to save a lengthy thread I need for a personal legal matter. Ideas? Thanks!
