SBF to root and to unroot

Ok I pulled it of....Now I would like to update to FRG22D. I see there is a file floating around called petes P3 although i couldn't download it from the link given. Is there another option at this time or should I just wait for further development. What the consensis .....
And when you get a OTA nag for this update, and I understand it is coming. What is the best way to get rid of the nag ?

And by the way thanks to all thoes who had input..It went really smoothe (except for catching the bootloader, 3rd times a charm) Every thing was as it was before the proceedure...didn' loose a thing except for a few brain cells.........
This thread might help you.

OK guess I'll stick around then....Again thanks !

Thanks Cristim!

Back to 2.01 using Box Option 5. I did have to install the Moto drivers for my phone before it was recognized in RSDLite (if I overlooked that instruction, my apologies). Other than that, smooth as butter.

if you're on a stock rooted rom now, you will still probably get the nag. afaik, the only way to "disable" that would be to install a custom rooted rom, but i haven't seen an frg22d that's naked, except for disabling the nag. you could try a custom rom that disables the nag and more though! if you're leaning towards trying out a custom rom, i'm really impressed with liquid frozen yogurt 1.5 - but you will have to install rom manager from market, then let it flash clockworkmod recovery, or else use sprecovery plus another program adp or something to manually format partitions... anyway, lfy1.5 is basically stock look and feel with a lot of optimizations.

gl :)

If you have SPRecovery installed you should back up your phone. Then accept the OTA and it will fail and stop nagging you.

DreamOperator - glad it all worked out!

The link to Motocache1's guide to rooting the 2.2

Christim,
That link you posted or Edited into your original post takes me to a "Page Not Found" blank page. I have Froyo 2.2 on my Droid 1, i'm still Not rooted, and your original tutorial doesn't work for putting SPRecovery onto my phone because of the conflict with the 2.2 version. What can i do? I'm anxious to get my phone rooted and overclocked and i'd prefer to Not go back to stock... Could you please help me out?

Yes. Update to FRG01B and then to FRG22D. The links can be found in the news section, or direct links can be provided if you strike out.

Just an interesting tidbit of info. Before FRG22D started going out OTA last week, whenever I flashed back (3 or 4 times during the week as I was testing some stuff), FRG01B would immediately start downloading, even on 2.0.1. Since FRG22D has started rolling out, that's not the case. I've never given it more than a few hours, but 01B never hit my phone during those few hours. Not sure how that's handled on Verizon's end... but just thought it was interesting.

Flawlessly!

dancedroiddancedroiddancedroiddancedroiddancedroiddancedroiddancedroid Awesome! Successfully rooted my Droid1 v2.2 using MotoCache1's guide. Dude is amazing and his intelligence and skills in describing the correct ways to do things is nothing short of amazing. Thank you Motocache1! :)

In advance I'm sorry if this has been answered in this thread already but I'm way to lazy to look back through all these pages.

I need to take my Droid back for warranty replacement and need too unroot. This will be my first time unrooting. I only rooted after I got my first warranty replacement and it was refurbished so I said f it I going to root. Did and loving it. Ne way My ? Is when going back to 2.0.1 will it automatically update to 2.2 or if not how do I. I know I have to at least get back to 2.1 unless everyone has 2.2 ota

Thanks for the help

It should, but save yourself the time and update manually. Use the larger file from the circus thread and you'll be set.

Just SBF flash it directly to FRG01B, or even FRG22D. The SBF's are out there for both. The FRG01B is easy -- it's on Peter Alfonso's downloads page. FRG22D is around here somewhere but is a little more cloaked and you probably won't want to search for it.
