SBrecovery problems

do you know of a friend that has a droid you can borrow his battery? idk what the issue is but the phone wont let the battery charge which is what you need

What you need to do is charge it thru the usb cable, the wall charger will not work when the battery is that low. It's going to take a long time to charge so be patient.

this doesnt make sense. the USB is a lower voltage resulting a longer charging time.

If I use the USB it won't charge at all and doesn't even recognize it as a power source. I have a dad that also has a droid that I can use his battery. What steps do I need to do to get my phone functional again? It is like something in the phone has locked the ability to let my phone charge. I appreciate all the help so far, if I can get my phone working again it would be awesome.

Brent
:stupid:

put the other battery in and see if the bootloader works (power on while holding up on the d-pad)

OK, I went to Verizon today and got a new battery. The tech messed around with the phone and couldn't figure anything else out. The bootloader 2c.7c works now, but I'm not sure what program to load to get my phone working again. It still shows the red battery with the line through it, but it at least the bootloader now works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now that you have the bootloader working. If it says batt ok ready to program on the bootloader screen then use link 2 in my sig. Option 1 then option 5, then option 2, then install any Rom to gain root.

I had the exact same problem as Brent Bro and I made sure my battery was charged before flashing the recovery. Gotta say thanks Tallica I got my phone back to stock 2.01. But.....when I try to take the next step to 2.1 with flashing sprecovery ese 81 my phone gets stuck on then intial motorola screen. Any suggestions?

flashing the ESE81 SPR on 2.0.1 wont work because ESE was a 2.1 build. need to upgrade to 2.1 first...

Right, sorry about that, use the .sbf that Motocache created in link 3 of my sig to flash SPR. It will work with any OS ver.

I did get the phone back to 2.0.1 stock and it works now. I was able to use easy root from there and root it. I am thinking that I will just unrooting and using it as is. I am so uncertain about the different Roms that I don't want to mess up my phone again.

You can always root for the apps but use a stock rom. I do that because at times I prefer the stock feel but want various rooted apps and the ability to over clock.

Ok well unless you put on a custom recovery, CW or SPR, then if you accept any OTA from Verizon it will not be blocked and will mess up your root access.
