It's good thing to hung up and did not give them any more information. With only a name and phone number, the worst they can do is sell it to another telemarketer. That means you may be expecting a surge of unsolicited calls.

And oh, I think it's important that you report that phone number number to Report Phone Number to CallerCenter.com and the FTC so they can investigate on this and shut the scam down.

I've gotten calls from a random number this week with never a voicemail left. I wonder if these are the same people.

I've received several calls like this. I never answer calls that I don't recognize. I looked up some of these numbers at a website that provides a listing service for scam numbers. Some have been associated with problems, others not. I just thought it was entertaining at the time. I just don't answer calls if I don't know who is calling. They can leave a message if they are legitimate, and I will respond as necessary.
