Screen & Body Protectors

Final review of sgp ultra oleophobic:
One of the best screen protectors I've ever used, once again sgp doesn't disappoint. Even in the hands of my 4yr old nephew it stood up well to whatever was on his little hands. Fingerprints wipe away easy and protects the phone very well without sacrificing screen quality. And most importantly my finger hasn't gotten stuck while using it which is a dealbreaker for me. I'm sure sgp will come out with more, but for now you can't go wrong with it. One of the best screen protectors I've used and I'm glad I got another one at home just in case.
And no matter how many times I had it in and out of my pocket the cover had no edges coming off (some say its a major problem with these but with proper installation it'll be fine)

Thanks dezy, ill put that in the op when i get a chance. nice review on the 23rd, i must have missed it. and im just adding some more pics now of the skinomi now.

Skinomi Carbon Body Protector: Amazon.com: Skinomi TechSkin - Black Carbon Fiber Film Shield & Screen Protector for Samsung Galaxy Nexus: Cell Phones & AccessoriesWell this thread isnt just about screen protectors it is also about body protectors. I finally just took some pictures of my nexus with the nice carbon protector that i bought a couple weeks ago. My thought process is that i really want a pristine device, so all around it i want a skin just in case of scratches and other dings that would potentially harm the paint and what not. this skin really acts like it isnt their, in a way i can put it in cases and stuff and basically forget that it has a paint job underneath (basically this skin acts like a tough paint job). Currently i have my nexus in an otterbox case, but under that with the skin i know that its not being scratched up (otterbox cases normally scratches my phone in some ways, but not now!). If i ever sell this phone it will be like new, id just take off the screen and body protector and it would be pretty nice. they also sell these for like every other phone out their. so even if you have a idk...rezound, razr, thunderbolt etc... youll still be able to buy this (remember, this stuff is the same just cut out in different shapes). I'll review this sometime in the week btw, itl be in my op and everything im just half asleep so thats as about as detailed and rambling as ill get for now. :happy3:
I apologise for the quality, they were taken from my a crummy D1, my good D1 was dead :( but the crummy one did the job i guess.

I tried to scratch the skin and it holds up well. i scratched it with my pocket knife and nothing shows. i wouldnt do it with an exacto though, thatl probably show. :D

And just for fun (this thread really isnt about cases) but ill give you a picture of my nexus in the otterbox defender,
Otter 3.jpgOtter 4.jpg
Advise to anyone who bought one of these (youd have to have a nexus i guess, not sure if other phone cases came with it), but i personally thought that plastic sheet that they called a screen protector was junk so i ripped it out and filed the ridges off because the Skinomi screen protector i had already on it is way better anyway. The clarity of that plastic thing was a joke. Also if your like me and bought the extended battery just take off that battery cover and it works like a champ.

Side note this whole post will be edited down later, lol i have a feeling my tiredness made me ramble a bit.

Double side note, i still need to post pics of the Skinomi screen protector but the pics i took today from the crummy D1 just arnt good enough to see it... i need to grab the good camera sometime but i guess that would require my lazy self to actually go into other room and get it. :D

I haven't forgotten about this thread. I have just been kinda busy. I hopefully will get my BSE protector on sometime this week, perhaps today even.

All good, it's the holidays and I'm sure you've been busy as well. I just wanted to add onto that previous post since it did go through alot more since then, I mean I left it in the hands of my 4yr old nephew, how many of you would do that?:D

And he did drop it once on marble from about 3ft, not a scratch or blemish, this phone is very durable.

Gonna bump this thread again. Alot of people asking for screen protector recommendations...

I still haven't forgotten about posting my thoughts on the BSE for the GN, the holidays and various other problems (hehe) kept coming up leaving me little to no free time. I currently have the Otterbox Defender, which has a built in screen protector, so I keep putting it off until later. I don't like the Otterbox's screen protector, so I am going to remove it once I get the BSE on (if it isn't worse than the Otterbox one that is).

A quick glance at it, and it has an oval cutout for the speaker and a circular one for the FFC. Those are the only two cutouts. Putting it over the screen, it looks as though it will cover the entire screen, leaving nothing uncovered (except the two aforementioned cutouts).

I will try and get some motivation tonight or perhaps tomorrow, and comment more on what it is like post installation. I also want to flash a new ROM tonight too.

Sounds good. Look forward to your review cup

rofl i had it on my list to update the op today and i played drinking games instead. :D i gotta do it tomorrow.

Update it while drunk, it'll be funny:D
I fear ill actually do that. I have a party to go to tonight so that may happen. We shall see if i get bored and drunk. Thats always a combo that makes me go to this site. ;) I should edit it now though, so it wont happen. But idk, im still kinda waking up.

I put the BSE on last night, so it hasn't fully dried but I figured I have procrastinated long enough I should finally give my initial thoughts on my BSE.

Google Samsung Galaxy Nexus Skin

Pros:
- Price. Even at the full price now, it is one of the cheaper options.
- Seems to be quite sturdy. I am not going to attempt to scratch it, but it appears to be the same material that was on my OG Droid (also a BSE) and it was quite durable.
- Clear It doesn't seem to interfere with the viewing of the screen. No orange peel effect. I watched a youtube video and played a game prior to application, and did the same after application. *note* I don't have 20/20 though.
- Good fit. It basically goes edge to edge for me with very left exposed.

Cons:
- In one of the corners it isn't as accurate as it was prior want it to be. As mentioned above I just installed it less than 12 hrs ago, and haven't used it much since, so I hope this will go away with some time.
- While it is smooth, it isn't as frictionless as glass. It isn't rubbery by any means, but I could tell a difference between glass to protector. Personally I don't have a problem with this, but some folks might.

Other:
- I am terrible at installing these things. It seems to take me forever to get the bubbles out. I struggled with this one too. Not that this is overly difficult, I am all thumbs when it comes to this stuff.
- It ships in a letter envelope with red typing on it saying "Your Skin Inside". Nothing fancy but gets the job done. I could see how some folks may consider this a con, especially if you are the type that tends to get messed up mail.

Thanks for the review cup!

Money, bored and drunk ain't a good combo, especially on the forum:D Stay safe my friend!
