screen output w/ USB mouse cable for droid turbo

I feel like this shouldn't have been this hard to discern, or my google fu is weak today...but....salutations and here is my question:

I have a droid turbo with a broken screen, phone is fine and functional. Still have home buttons @ the bottom, can see partial screen....charges, stays on etc.

I need to connect it to a monitor and use a USB mouse to transfer my files off of it once my new phone arrives....

Is there a cable, set of cables or adapter that will allow me connect the phone to a monitor, and simultaneously use a USB mouse?

Help!

TIA,

Jack

Can you see your phone in adb? If so just run 'adb pull /sdcard/ c:\temp'

I've never heard of anyone connecting a monitor or USB mouse to a phone.

connecting a monitor
Remember when Moto Droids had mini hdmi out? That was fun. Connected mine to the TV a couple of times.

USB mouse to a phone
Theoretically possible.

Bottom line, @jack12345, Mustang's advice is the best way to go if you can see the phone through ADB.

Not to mention, you can browse the files on your phone through a computer if everything else works, so you should be able to drag and drop any music/pictures/etc. that way as well if you're not familiar with ADB.

Depending on decisions you made when you first got the phone, Google should've backed up your contacts to their servers, so those should populate right in if your new device is an Android phone.

I guess the best question for us to ask to give you the best advice is, what exactly do you want to transfer off of the broken device for use with the new one and what is the new device that you're expecting?

1st, thank you guys so much for the quick, and helpful responses. Much appreciated....

2nd....what I initially requested, may not be possible....contacts are through email so not worried....what I do want to get, is photo's and video's....so

What is ADB and how do I use it to achieve liberation of my beloved media?

ADB has to be run through Command Prompt. Let me see if I can find the tutorial I used to use.

I haven't used it in a long time, so I can't help you from memory. One of these other guys or another member may be able to do so more quickly.

@Mustang02, where you at when I need you?
