Very nice setup is all I can say.
Thank you very much for your comment!! :icon_ banana:
Quick question on your live icons. Where those made using 'Minimalistic Text'? I have figured out the icon and creating the behavior to open the launcher I want. Can't figure out how to add the count bubbles to these though.
This has been very informative thread for us "beginners"
Yes the icons (text icons of course !!) where made using "minimalistic text".
You will need "unreadcountsms" from the market
There's a few ways to add the counter to those 3 icons, the one that works best all the time is to create your icons on photoshop (or similar image editing software) Once you created them you will need to rename them as follow:
ic_launcher_mail for mail icon
ic_launcher_phone for the phone icon
ic_launcher_smsmms for sms
after renaming the icons go ahead and place them on the sdcard/data/com.kanokgems.smswidget folder, now everytime you select widget type and custom icon on the unreadcountsms apk you will be selecting the icon that you placed before on the folder and the apk will add the counter next to it.
Of course this required of a little bit of knowledge on Photoshop or similar.
The other way its just to add the text icons with minimalistic text, and look around for a transparent PNG icon, once you have it go ahead and place it on the same folder, just name it "transparent" now go unreadcountsms apk and select your widget type and for the custom icon select the transparent PNG file that you just added. This will create a transparent icon with a little red counter next to it, now the tricky (sometimes very tricky) part its to find the right spot and place it next to the right icon.
The last way I know of working this out its to embed the icons into the wallpaper and just adding the transparent PNG with the red counter next to it, again this is tricky too and requires a little bit more of Photoshop knowledge since you will need to work with templates and such and you will need to know exactly where to place your icons on the wallpaper so that your counter will be next to it as close as possible.
In my personal opinion the first option is the best and fool-proof but if you don't have access to PS or similar, go ahead and use option 2, just play a little bit with the row and columns number on your launcher and that should do the trick.
Good luck.
BTW, just in case anyone wants to know, I used option two for this setup!
