SD card transfer

I just bought a droid Eris, and all of my pictures are on my SD card from my old phone. It is only 1gb and I would like to transfer the pictures from this onto the 8gb SD card that came with my droid, but I cant figure out how. Thanks for any suggestions you have.

put the one gig card in your eris
connect the eris to a pc via USB
mount the SD card
copy the pictures to the pc
unmount SD card and disconnect eris from pc
swap out the cards
connect to pc via usb again
mount sd card
copy pictures back from pc to the 8gb card

Get a card reader and transfer the photos using your PC as the middleman.
