The buyer wants it left rooted.

How do I wipe out all my data and keep the rom and root?

I sold my friend my rooted D1 and I had the same problem but he just did a factory reset thru the settings and it cleared everything and it remained rooted

Boot into recovery and do a factory data reset. Hold x and the power button to get into recovery then scroll down and select wipe data/factory reset, and then wipe cache.

So basically I can leave it rooted and do a factory reset?

And all my.stuff will safely be removed?

Old thread but quick question.

From a security standpoint is factory reset while staying rooted good enough?
should I wipe sd card too?

If you're giving the SD card with the phone then I would wipe it if I were you. That way anything you have on there will be gone too when you hand it over.

I got $30 for my rooted X running MIUI. Simply explained that they have the ability to flash it to stock, the Rep laughed and agreed.
