The one time I did this I bent over in the parking lot and my D2 fell all of 12 inches and hit the concrete. Needless to say it cracked across the screen and I had to do an insurance claim.

I have a utility area in the house where the water pump is. The floor is solid concrete. Yesterday I bent over with the phone in my shirt pocket to clean a cat box we have in there and my D2 fell out of my pocket and landed flat on it's back, screen side up.

I was lucky.
