Should I consider dumping my Maxx for an S3¿

Of course opinions vary.
I've had the S3 for just over a month now and its by far the fastest and most technologically advanced phone I've ever owned. I've been running root stock with Apex launcher since day one and I've had no problems whatsoever.
I suggest visiting your carriers local store and check it out first hand.
Its an amazing device!

The screen don't measure up to the slcd2 its still nice tho, touch wiz is still mediocre and the phone feels cheep in the hand and the reception is not nearly as good as my old thunderbolt nowhere close yea the bolt was hit and miss at launch but lte was new after the patches it was great..

I've had to do about 6 factory resets for different reasons the last one my battery died so I charged it for 40min powered it back on answered a text then went to turn it back off but I hit restart by accident no big deal but when it rebooted u could navigate the screens for 20sec then it would freeze for 2min or so then would work for 20sec and freeze again so I tried clearing all cache didn't work booted it in safe mode and it would still freeze in safe mode then kick me out so I gave it a day then ended up factory reseting.. then the other time my phone just won't go into landscape mode for no reason all setting good and calibrated I can just be texting ppl for 20min straight then bam no landscape mode I even took it takes to a buddy to look at it and even he was like wtf.. And I'm not the best but I know my way around the stuff.. I will never buy anything Samsung again there tv's suck and there phones suck too maybe I have bad luck with them but there not getting my money again.. I can say I prefer HTC phones over any other but due to the new plan thing I took a chance on Sammy and at the end of the day I'm not impressed I was hoping I would like it I spent close to 300$ on it and I just don't.. Vzw phone linup sucks so that doesn't help, 1 new high end phone then overcharge out the butt for a RAZR maxx no way in hell that phone should still cost 300$.

You must be a loyal employee because on the other thread you tried to make it seem like anybody that buys a phone at full retail price to keep their unlimited data is ripping off the system. And sometimes things from the past are worth keeping. Especially when Verizon really wants you to stop using their data connect to WiFi and use another companies internet. Some people might save money but Verizon is the one that makes the most money from this. They are charging people more money to use less data by changing there bill around and convincing them to use someone else's data. i think the big thing that most people are forgetting (not saying you specifically) is the fact that VZW (as every other carrier) is a for profit business. When the company spent that 9 billion dollars to purchase the 700mhz spectrum to rollout LTE, they're now saddled with paying back that huge loan. the money for that purchase has to come from somewhere and just like every other business (apple might be the exception to this) the money comes from the customer base. we all want to have the latest and greatest in phone technology and that is coming at an ever increasing cost for the carriers. imagine a world where rate plans were dirt cheap and everything was unlimited but the costs of the phones were 2-3x what they are now in order to pay for operating expenses.

my point of this is that consumers cant have their cake and eat it to. people want the newest and fastest phones and want unlimited use of the data on it, but in order for customers to have equal opportunity to enjoy their device to the fullest the caps have to exist.

Ok this debate is driving me crazy.


There is no spec thats better than the other. The phones will perform pretty much exactly the same. So you need to look at the little things. Do you want a single physical button? Where do you want your charger plugin? What side do you want the power button on? DO YOU WANT A REMOVABLE BATTERY? Screen size, universal accessory options etc etc

All of these are physical specs. We don't know who you are and what you like to hold. Look at these factors and only you can decide. Play with them both at the store. And forget Touchwiz or Blur, if you don't like them they can easily be replaced.
