Hello Droidiacs,

I am perplexed. I need advice from those more tech phone oriented. I purchased the moto droid 3 weeks ago. Then found out about the "Incredible" and made the exchange. I still have 1 week to make up my mind. I like all the things about both phones. However, I have found that I had better luck with the moto droid in basic phone operations. The call quality of the HTC Incredible is sub par in my area. Will this be addressed with apps? I have noticed that even the "ringer" volume while turned up to high just doesn't get my attention. That was not the case with the Moto.

In other words is the tech side of things that much better on the Incredible to overlook these little basic phone difficulties.

Thanks for your input in advance,
:motdroidhoriz:

I find it to be the opposite?

Alas, if a phone doesn't work well enough as a...well...phone, then I would say the Moto Droid is for you. If you are worried about becoming obsolete, as long as you don't fear a little hacking on the phone, you can make it faster than the Droid Incredible. As for the GPU...the Moto Droid GPU is far superior.

So really the only things you would be giving up are:

Slimmer, lighter design.
A less power hungry screen, offset by more power hungry software.
Double the ram
Internal storage, that Android apps balk at anyway.

I love my Incredible though.

i mean if youre not satisfied with the phone part of the incredible thats really not going to change with any apps

pretty much what adrynalyne said - the pros and cons of each phone

we really cant make the decision for you - its what you prefer really

i swapped the droid for the incredible. never looked back. DO IT

He asking about the opposite, though.

droid hands down better phone overall the incredible is just a inbetween phone till the better ones come out later this year...I feel bad for the people who bought and spent more money to get the incredible

How on earth can you make a statement like that? I swapped Droid for incredible and have not regretted it for a second
! To each his own but do not hate on the incredible just cuz you like your Droid. Incredible is definately a better phone for me.

Hmm, this is actually the reason I went for the Incredible. While all of the other perks that it offers is great, the actual phone quality is the reason that I dumped the Droid. The phone was horrendous, the worst that I've owned in over 15 years of owning cell phones. I loved everything else, but that was a big enough issue to cause me to change.

The Incredible has been perfect in that area.

Fanboys from both sides...funny to watch.

They are both excellent phones.

lol I can hate on the incredible for whatever reason i want but anyway so let me ask you did you pay extra for the phone cause you were still in your 2 year contract? if you did it was your personal preference that you did that, but my feeling is this the incredible is not so much of a upgrade that I would drop 400 to 500 dollars on in my opnion it is stupid. if u would have waited 3 to 4 monthes better phones would be out ,but you are going to prob waste money again to get one of those lol

I did not pay full price for the HTC, I paid $200, which is the same as the droid! I had the droid for 28 days and it is a good phone but felt like I was carrying around a brick in my pocket due to the weight. Some people prefer heavy phones but I prefer lighter phones. I also hated the keyboard like most! That is why I switched and why I am happier with the HTC. Have you had the HTC?

my wife has the eris and I think is cheap dont like sense ui and call quality sucks. the moto compared to the incredible as far as build quality goes is no comaprison the moto will outlast the incred 10 fold, the moto as far as hardware is not that far off from the incred it is not like oh my god the incredible it blows away the moto droid. Listen if you just got the phone and did not get it out of contract then good for you ,your preference but my prob is for the people who dropped moto droid and spent 400 to 500 dollars on supposedly upgradeing to the incred just utterly silly and falling for what the cell phone companies what you to do spend more money on tiny upgrades

This.

I have a Droid and my friend has an Incredible. They both have their ups and downs. One is more durable, has a keyboard, and a crisper screen. The other has a better camera, is lighter/sleeker, and faster.

To the OP: You've tried them both, go back if the other one made you happy.

I love my Inc. Paid 150. for the Moto returned it for the Inc. which I paid 150. for. I'm really happy. As for durability I have never worn out a phone!

The thing is, threads like this are worthless. Because what works well for one person might not necessarily be the best thing for someone else. The MotoDroid and the Incredible are not even directly comparable devices, they both have their own feature set. So, it's like comparing apples to oranges. The Moto is more of an Android-powered "mini-netbook" while the Incredible is more a "mini-tablet"

Both are wonderful pieces of technology, but there is no good answer to "which phone is better for ME?" - that cannot be answered in a forum thread. The best advice is to stick with whichever device works best for YOU. With the currently available software. Which leads to my next piece of advice - don't base a decision on promised features in "future OS revisions" as things like that tend to change.
