signal issues

ive been having a recent problem with my droid, my problem has been that my phone will be perfect 3g full bars and then suddenly drop to 1 bar analog signal. If i which it to airplane mode and then back again it usually fixes the problem...just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this and knows of some way to counter the problem...thanks in advance
