Task killers are good for Blackberries. Android is not a Blackberry. Not all smartphones are Blackberries. My experience with Geek Squad is that I do better, faster work and a lot cheaper -- yet they keep getting the calls and I haven't worked in months.

But yeah, there are threads around here on the common misconceptions and myths of Android. The Task Killer and need for an antivirus app ones are the biggest. While there might have been some truth to the Task Killer under 2.0 it hasn't been true since 2.1 and it REALLY isn't true under 2.2.

With or without bloatware I doubt the phone suffers any performance from them. our phones aren't gameboys, they're almost as fast as the average laptop & each app is a few megabytes, so its not going to take a year to handle its memory usage.
