Not only would it serve it's purpose of holding my phone at work or home, but when the phone is not on it. It would be a centerpiece for my art collection.

I work in a biology lab with an obligate intracellular parasite, Toxoplasma gondii. A lot my experiments need to be timed... and by I a lot, I mean most of them (if not all!) Sometimes they have to be timed for a while. Most of the timers in my lab are taken by other people - you know, the ones that stand up. They try to make sure that we keep the ringer noise off on them not to distract other people working in the lab.

So basically I use my phone. Its happened to me multiple times that I'm waiting for an hour or two (or four) while an experiment or gel is running, and I look at my phone only to see that its 15 or 30 minutes past what I wanted. I always have it plugged in to my laptop so I can keep the screen on, but I just never watch the screen because its laying down on my desk!

This would probably fix that...

I could really use one of these I use my Droid X for video based IT training
and the lack of kick stand (evo) gets really old. I watch on average 5 hrs of video a day. from comptia vids to cisco vids.

I need one because my droid was just telling me the other day that it was tired of being treated like the red headed step child of the family. It was tired of just being set on it's back or face down on the end table while the wife and I sat in the lap of luxury on the couch. It said it deserved a nice place to sit and watch it's commercials just as much as we do.

Not to nitpick, but both of my smartphone coasters are 45* exact measured with a plain old protractor. Don't get me wrong I love them for my Droid 1, but the sngle of the stand is 45*. They originally advertised the stand as having a 75* angle and now it's marketed at 60* but it's still the same stand. I don't understand why they would try to be misleading about this it seems silly?

why i should get a coaster

i work in the automotive industry so my hands are dirty all the time. hate to pick up my droid x or have to wipe my hands first. if i got the coaster, all i needed to do is just push the buttons to view incoming calls, msgs, email. it would also serve as an awesome stand for when im streaming music or videos during work.
