Can I link to the ebay HTC Battery you are referencing?

h**p://cgi.ebay.com/OEM-HTC-Dash-3G-Tilt2-Tilt-2-Touch-Pro2-RHOD160-Battery-/230439043798?cmd=ViewItem&pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item35a73cc2d6

It's a 1500mAH battery OEM HTC.

I purchased 2 of them. Now where is the charger stand :) Anyone?

So let me see if I understand what the choices for battery upgrades are (or will be) for the Droid Inc.

*1500 mah - available now from Verizon - uses stock back cover.

*1750 mah - available now from Seidio - uses stock back cover.

*2150 mah - from HTC but not yet available - I suppose comes with a larger back cover.

*3500 mah - from Seidio but not yet available - will come with a larger back cover.

Have I got this right. If not, anyone feel free to make corrections or fill in the gaps for me. Thanks.

This is correct.

i don't know where you read this but seidio uses high quality cells made in Japan the stock HTC batteries cells are made in China, granted not everything made in china is crap but come on.

We can't always be quick to judge things. egobuster1 I feel is just making a comment on something he read. The higher grade cells is an opinion but haven't been confirmed. Tests have been done and many claims have been less than truthful about longer battery life, tendering the battery after 5-6 uses, etc from companies such as Mugen, Seidio and the likes.

I am giving the OEM 1500mAH HTC battery a try not because I can't afford it but I am curious as to the results. It costs me $15.00 to know and that doesn't bother me.

Companies rebadge and re-label things all the time to the detriment of the consumer. Not saying Seidio is using this practice just saying it in general.

Many automatically assume that a Chinese made OEM HTC battery at $14.99 cannot be as good as a $49.00 branded Seidio battery.

Well folks you can get the HTC 1500mAH batteries for $3.24 each in a 100 pack. What do you think Seidio is paying for them? At $49.99 each thats a lot of nice marketing material :)

It works without question. There are several people on the other forums already using them in the Incredible and said that it was an increase in overall time with the 1500mAH HTC batteries. But I will post as well and let everyone know.

I got the 14.99 Ebay battery 1500mAH and charged it last night. I didn't perform the charge to 100% - reboot and recharge. Just charged it.

All I can say it impressive! My normal routine which is to read emails, read lots of news, play some Robo Defense(battery didn't warm up like it does with the OEM DI battery) read more news, etc. So far the battery bar has hardly moved. I know from my experience the other day I would notice a good drop. I would easily say that i could get 30% or more with this battery over the OEM DI battery. No task killers, flickr sync off, and Enable Always-on Mobile is "ON". I have emails on 30 mins and Exchange 2010 Active-Sync. I get a lot of mail. Text and some phone calls. I run BuzzBox which feeds new news into the phone so its always on. I also run the Times, and a few other news gadgets. So I am constantly getting updated on news.

I am not one to hype any product but I am impressed with the battery so far. Some people have said that the 1500mAH is almost or as good as the Seidio 1750mAH battery in real world tests. I do not have one of them so I can't speak on that experience. No offense to Seidio - just giving my opinion on this battery. I hope others find it informative.

I will test it again tomorrow but I will also leave it off a charger for the night and see what kinda of drain it might have. I will report again.

Good to know. I was just looking at that battery but was not sure about the quality, keep us posted on your results.

This is actually the first time I'm excited, I was going to wait for the verizon or the Seidio 3500MAh but may just go with one of these $15.00 dollar batteries. Way to go mr.momoman

Still over half of the battery(6/10) without charge last night. Responded to some emails, read a lot of news and a few text this AM. I am sure there are ways to make it last longer by turning off this and that. I just didn't want to do that because I approach things from a consumer side not a tech side. Most consumers do not know how to turn specific settings off and on. Why should they have to initially? The experience should always be out of the box not a tweak session found on forums.

Now I must say that I probably have more news programs running than most. I am a large consumer of news and emails.

I am happy with this purchase. I am sure the Larger 3500mAH will be a monster but in truth I do not want to pay another $80-100 for a battery that will bulk up the phone. The only other battery that would interest me would be the 2150mAH from Verizon when they release. But I am almost sure that I will not get that as I have a spare now and thats more than enough to make it through a day of very heavy use.

In all honesty how many of you cannot just pick up a pack of micro usb cables from ebay for $1.99 each and just have a few laying around where you are sitting? If you are in your car the car charger can provide the juice. If you are at home having a usb cable at the ready is always an easy thing to do. My use reasons are for work when I am at a new client site without internet, without phones and without power designing the infrastructure and I am on heavy phone use, emails, text and internet. So a spare battery makes sense for me. But when i am not out on site I am always near a micro usb cable to charge or my car charger.

I do feel there needs to be software update for the mis-reading of the battery meter.

My current reading fom the Battery use is:

Android system - 37%
Cell Standby - 30%
Phone Idle - 23%
Display - 10%

I am on 6/10 on the battery bars since yesterday morning.

I hope that helps some of you. I could have been more detailed than this in how I use the phone but it wasn't necessary. It's a simple gauge more for my own knowledge. But I thought I would share.

It's just my opinion and if it helps some thats great if not...... No harm no foul. :)
