SlingBox Android Client $29.99!

I installed a SlingBox Pro HD last week. Works great, as advertised. Access it from all our PCs. I thought, what the heck, let's check it out for Android, only to find a $29.99 price tag. Are you kidding, no way! Seems the same for Android tablets.

As a cheesy workaround, I launched my home browser from my phone using SplashTop remote client, and executed the SlingBox app from there.

Guess I'll keep an eye open for a deal I can't refuse. Meanwhile, the work-around and my free Netflix client will be fine ;-)

Seriously, who really cares anymore about Slingbox. I still have unlimited data, and I subscribe to HBO Go, Netflix, and soon able to watch TV shows from DirecTV when the app is ready.

Agree for the most part, but I still enjoy tons of live sports, stuff I record. Found this press release from January regarding streaming from Comcast streaming...
Comcast Streaming For iPad and Android Tablets

I am starting to weigh the Pros/Cons of Direct TV. Sure someone will continue to keep their hands in our pockets.

Btw, how do you like that Vulcan 1600? Brother just bought the bigger one (2000cc?). Took it for a very cold quick spin last week, froze my butt off, it seems to get along pretty well. We both need big bikes to haul our big butts around ;-) I drive a Roadstar 1900

I'm sure Comcast doesn't want to miss the boat with an app to watch tv shows on the Android.

I love my Vulcan 1600 - it's perfect for hauling MY big butt around too. The Vulcan 2K would be a very nice ride too. I had mine out this past weekend for a little bit. Was the first time in a couple of months and it felt good to be out there again.

I see you're in Boulder, are you a Tebow and Broncos fan too? If so, I guess we will be enemies come Sunday afternoon....Go Steelers!

SHHHH lol I use slingbox and I know comcast will probably charge something for tv service on your phone.

As for the app price, when you consider you're not paying anything additional monthly, it really isn't that bad..

I am a Broncos fan, but I am not a Tebow fan, good kid, but the guy cannot throw the ball. My sister-in-law is a huge Steelers fan, I already sent her a note congratulating her on this coming weekends Stellers victory ;-) But you do know you will hear from me if the Broncos accidentally win:icon_ lala:
