SMS/Email Notification Alert

Does the Droid have the feature that if you get a text message or an email and the first alert notification goes off that it will keep alerting you ever 5 or 10 minutes or so. Every phone I have had previously would alert me again with either a tone or a quick vibrate if I did not hear the initial alert notification.

Yes. It's in the "menu" of the respective program. If you are messaging just go to the "menu" and "settings" and you will find it. Same with email alerts

Negative, and neither did phones like the Blackberry Storm. Only one audio alert and then a continuous flashing light.

That's exactly what I did and I didn't see any setting for repetitive alerts for email. At least not in the gmail setting.

okay thank you that is what i thought because i have been unable to find anything in the menus about an additional alert after the first alert notification goes off.

I use "handcent" and its right in the settings under "notifications". You can have it remind you ever 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes.

Yeah, handcent has additional features. Natively though, the Droid does not have repeat reminders after the initial notification.
