So, now we have to take the new note 7 back?

So this may be more serious than Samsung is letting on. Why would anyone want to keep the Note 7 with all of this going on??

I would! Lol! [emoji12] I'm sure if I owned the N7, I would be holding onto it until it caught fire (which I have doubts would happen). Given that we don't even know if the five are even legitimate claims, I'm still skeptical that there was ever a problem. This wouldn't be the first time a company's reputation was fraudulently sabotaged.

Costco had a deal on the S7, not the edge, so I guess I'll check Best Buy tomorrow, happy and crazy with the Note 7.

I'm sorry I don't follow the whole "Someone sabotaged Samsung!!!" Theory... personally I think Samsung tried to change up their design and it backfired on them. That doesn't make them a horrible company... just a company that tried something and failed.

This recall is a bit too big in my opinion to be just because a few people screwed with some devices and "sabotaged" them.

Yes I switched to an IPhone for the moment but I'm still a Samsung fan and greatly enjoy many of their products and I'm sure I will enjoy more in the future. They just made a big oops and will now have to build themselves back up.

Cutting costs by making the battery skin a smidge thinner perhaps? Perhaps a new formula in the polymers of the skin?
From what I'm reading the skin that seals each cell is the culprit. Li batteries are made of a highly volatile chemicals sealed in a plastic skin. Any number of things can go wrong and it seems a slight punctuate in the skin of a few cells is what causes the fires. If you read about the results of vapers tossing their batteries in backpacks, pockets, etc it'll tell basically why the Note7 can become kindling for a house fire.

Did you have to request the box? Or will it automatically arrive after you upgrade? (I upgraded through Best Buy, so not sure what to do next).

I did it through Verizon.... They said since I used the upgrade on the line with the note 7 they will automatically send the box and it will arrive within 2 weeks.

Not sure what to do through best buy but I'd imagine it's similar.
