Sourcery V1.0 Release Merry Christmas

Hi and thanks for all the work on this ROM, it is the first I have ever installed on my Droid 1. Just a few questions...

1. Where is the market? It's not listed in the apps anywhere?

2. To install the Sourcery Gapps Plus, I need clockworkmod, which I would get from the Market?

3. Wifi tethering does not seem to work. It says connected on both my laptop and Droid, but no internet. I had wifi tethering on the stock Droid with Barnacle, and it worked fine.

1. market is in the gapps you've yet to install.

2. yuo can reboot into recovery and install gapps without RM. just hold power button select reboot then select reboot into recovery. once in recovery you'll need to install from sd card, then choose zip. find the gapps.zip on your card and flash....once flashed you can back out to main menu with the power button and reboot....you'll make selections using the volume rocker and camera button once in recovery. any other questions you can seek help in the IRC channel on the website.

3. this is the 1st i've heard about wifi tether not working....so there may be a setting to fix there but once you get your market back you can try barnacle again.

Ok, got Gapps installed and working. Wifi still an issue. Tried Slayher kernel (900) 1.6, no change in wifi. Installed Barnacle, after a few minutes, was able to get internet on wifi, but had disconnects.

Has anyone tried USB tethering? I clicked on it, it went grey, and says some kind of error. Cannot get it to work, either. I'll keep trying.

Alright for those who say gmail is still transparent it was fixed it's just very subtle and now looking at it might be too subtle so i'll lighten the one a bit more for you.

So just install it now and let me know. When you open gmail if you have "loading conversations" in white text than you have the new one since i changed that text color as well with the fix. If not send me a pm and i have a fix set up already for you since it means you have the accidentally leaked ftp scripts.

I do believe gflam is working on a fix for that. It is a known issue though.

The "fix" you are talking about, I think, was to install the blue theme. I know I did this but I still have the transparent gmail. I do like the transparent gmail but as has been stated you can't see what is read or not.

Ok I just flashed the blue theme as well and its still transparent as well. I notice the on the unread messages the text is bold. Sorry I don't use gmail much so its not a bother lol

just helped friend install and no non-purchased app showed in market. we wiped market cache but still nothing.
wipe cache and data was done before installing.
we're going to format card and start fresh tomorrow to try to see if we can pin this down.

Did u clear the market data too? There was a someone yesterday who had that problem and that fixed it.

hi all

sorry for those that went to irc and none was there we are a small group with only 2 developers so we just cant monitor 24 hours aday.

wifi and wireless and wired tether are working for me here with the stock kernel that will be in the next build. i had tested them all on the v1.0 release and they all worked also. the wired tether is probably the less tested but i just used it and its working.

noone i know of has had wifi issues.

market not downloading apps , most likely a market glitch ive had that happen in the pat but never with the current market that is in the gapps thats why its boring stock not themed to insure no problems. so let me know. i have seen a few here and there with problems but i have had that sparatic problem with a lot of different roms since i got into this rooting thing(oh why). so hopefully will work for you. BUT.. if a market has been in stalled that didnt work , crashed whatever it can wipe out your market downloads. I know this my testing the attemps at a transparent market in the build. i lost all my market apps auto download several times. but have had not 1 problem with the market in the sourcerygapps plus.


I know gflam is preparing a new gmail for next release to fix the problem with not determining new and old mail.

thanks. i just cheked it with the google netbook and it worked. i threw it in at the last minute so it wasnt highly tested. its hard to remember to include things that you never use

for some time I have suspected an issue with the sd card so we will format it.

no harm in formatting the card....but when i've had that trouble is when i go to mess with it before it's done syncing all the apps....like trying to turn on wifi cuz it's taking forever for apps to load....just screws it right up.

Ok...any word yet on why it tells those of us that use LauncherPro that the launcher is out of date when trying to use a widget? It happens to me with the Contacts widget...TIA for your help...

This ROM is awesome guys! Was hesitant to switch since I had been running UD for almost a month and gotten comfortable. First impression is wow this is the speed I've been looking for. And there's enough window animations to give an epileptic a seizure. Running jdlfg 1288 kernel right now. Can't get compcache running yet but I think I can fix it tonight. Quadrant was 1620 first time my phone has seen 1600's.

see the 1st page for instructions on compacache .
if it doesnt work than that kernel probably doesnt support it, i havent used those and not seeen them updated in a long time if thees newr ones out link me so i can try them.
