Speak not working

I just noticed when I hit my MIC button....it says speak now...but it does not "hear" my voice. I do not get the "pattern" of my speech. Did I turn off anything? Is there a setting for this?

EDIT::: I am rooted and shut off some BLOATWARE....maybe I shut the Speak App off if there is one??

I figured it out...

It was an app I renamed once I was rooted. It was part of the list that you can rename to get the bloatware off of the phone without deleting the program.

It was Voice Search App that I renamed to VoiceSearch.apk.old.

As soon as I renamed it to VoiceSearch.apk I was able to speak my texts.
