speaker has crackling sound

Do you hear crackling when using the earpiece or speakerphone? I noticed my RAZR crackles if I have it up to 100% on speakerphone but is fine when using earpiece during call.

my problem is majorly on the earpiece speaker.. i noticed it does the same on the speakerphone as well, but not too severe.

If it is doing it on both speakers I would imagine it is cheap speakers or some kind of software issue.

If the "crackling" is during calls, I would try:
1) dial *22899 and wait for phone ton hang up to update PRLs (not sure if this is applicable for LTE)
2) turn off "voice privacy" in phone settings
3) reboot every day
4) turn phone volume down one notch from full at least
5) make sure hand or phone case is not blocking one of the microphones

This could be something that gets fixed with an update, but who can say? I wonder how widespread the issue is.

well, i tried this right now.. no noticeable change in speaker quality.. i do hope they get their act together..!! i'd shifted from a samsung galaxy and now i'm thinking i shouldn't have.. No doubt, the razr is an amazing device.. i'm just hoping this gets sorted out soon..!

Where is voice privacy found in razor settings?

Try going into Sound/Media Audio Effects

3D is enabled for headphones and Bass Punch for speaker. I figure Bass Punch is what is giving folks the Buzz/Rattling. Try turning Bass Punch off and see if you still rattle.

Still rattling/buzzing I think it was less though. Funny thing is this only happens while on a call on speaker phone or watching videos.

I just noticed the crackling sound today when I was on a call....I might exchange my phone for the Nexus....just kidding, trade it in for a new Razr since I'm still in my 14 day window and hope I don't notice the crackling anymore. Other than that this is one amazing phone :-)
