Statement from th3oryrom

I love your ROMs, take the time to even re-read the thanks in the OP every time a new version is available, and BIG TIME appreciate all the hard work you (and others) have put in on this phone. Best of luck getting things to where you want them to be and releasing an update whenever it's ready!

So we can flash the rom & pacs and all is good maybe its better now ya gotta figure $tt out for your self guess thats why you do backups. Thanks guys for all you have done cant wait to flash. ( I dont need no stinckin widget )

Yeah that to... I'm pretty sure or i would at least hope, that [R3]BLURR3D was installed more than 14 times. Lol.

Many people are installing this ROM and not marking it. Your point is well taken and I'm obviously VERY grateful for the work you and others have put into this, and putting up with noobs like me.

That being said I'd like to HELP and do my part by explaining why the OP IS being read but not understood thus the need for these constant clarification posts. If THAT many people are asking for clarification then your OP is NOT adequate for the normal user to understand. That's not criticism at all so please do not mistake my tone. You guys are obviously SUPER talented but the writing is often very confusing with conflicting statements and meanings often within the same sentence.

For example from the OP: INFORMATION: READ THIS!!!! YOU MUST HAVE THE HIFT3R BASE INSTALLED AND BOOTED BEFORE ADDING ANY TH3ORYPakX. (IF YOU ARE RUNNING [R3]BLURR3D V2.0 YOU DO NOT NEED TO FLASH THE BASE) This right here is a conflicting and confusing statement. First you state that you MUST have 2.1 base installed before adding any theorypakx, but then you go on to say you don't need the base if you have 2.0 flashed. Which is it? Do we have to have the 2.1 base or not? This just begs people to post clarifying questions, read on...

CAUTION!!!! MAKE SURE THE ROM IS ON SD CARD EXT BEFORE BOOTING INTO RECOVERY!!!!

NO MATTER WHAT ROM YOU ARE COMING FROM

THIS BASE ROM WILL WIPE EVERYTHING!!
But....wait you just said if I have 2.0 already that I don't have to wipe? But no matter what ROM i'm coming from this ROM will wipe everything? Do I have to wipe if I already have 2.1? This again begs questions from people that aren't devs. Maybe a small table showing the necessary upgrade paths when coming from a pre-2.0, 2.0 or 2.1 ROM would allow people to see exactly what they need to do without posting clarifying questions and mucking up the thread?

Again I can't thank you guys enough and this is not a criticism...I'm just trying to help so that your threads don't go 70 pages deep with people asking if they need to wipe data when coming from X rom. Thanks again for all your hard work on this. You've made me into a certified flash a holic and checking the threads daily for updates!
:hail: You're hands down the dev of the month for October.

what didnt you understand

what didnt you understand
I personally understand it NOW. What I'm saying is I can see how someone new popping in here looking for a good custom ROM could be confused by the OP which would prompt them to post all kinds of silly clarifying questions (I was one a few weeks ago). I plan on doing my part by helping new folks with what I now know, though I'm far from an expert of any kind.

I agree with reading entirely, I was having an issue getting to 5.5.893, then I was having HUGE problems with my phone.. couldn't get to 5.7 just kept reading and reading until I found the solution... I don't even think I had to ask anything as someone already had.

it's not hard, just takes a little time and patience.

thanks for this great rom... I just got 2.1 ic3 running and I love it... can't wait to see 2.2, it's things like this that makes me really want to get back into modding.

I agree that there should be just a tad bit more clarification... maybe they say, if you are on 2.0 or 2.1 you do not have to wipe, if you are using a reblurred theory pack you do not have to wipe. IF you are coming from a DE-blurred theory pack you MUST reinstall the base to use a RE-blurred theory pack.

it can get very confusing very quick and ALOT of people simply skip over things when reading... my wife is horrible at this... somehow she can miss entire words, or misread them completely and not even notice.

a flowchart might help :P I'd be willing to work on an update/upgrade/new install flow chart if they wanted it

I Just want to say thanks to everyone out there that help make the bionic an amazing device. I am grateful with every dev. out there that puts their time into making all these awesome roms and themes as well as a way to unbrick this monster. If it wasnt for you this would just be a phone, now its grown into a lean, mean, kick all the other phones *** if they get in the way monster! I give my respect to all. Thanks and i do read just to see what new things you guys have done to the bionic.

Im not real good at understanding some stuff either but this was pretty basic. If a person never flashed a rom before then yeah but then they should more reading you know what they say about the first time. Before I flash anything I no exactly what is supposd to happen then if it doesnt you no something went wrong. The first rom I flashed had no instructions it was just assumed you knew what you were doing. This is like candy from a baby.
