Status error 7 when upplying update.zip

Im rooted and used the sholes app back on 2.0.1 but I want to unroot and install 2.1. I have a couple friends who want me to root their phones for them up the process isnt the same as what I used, and I want to practice on mine before I start digging into theirs.

Im using the Clockwork recovery v1.8.0.8

Ive tried multiple update.zip files and all of them are giving me this same error.

Im in the process of reformatting my sd card and will try again. Hopefully that works.

Any ideas?

I'm not sure what is causing the error or what an error 7 even is. I notice that you are not using the most current version of ClockWork. I wonder if perhaps that may be causing the error. Can you update to 1.8.1.4 and try?
