Stock Google calendar - no color in 2.2

I did the manual update yesterday, and everything works with the exception of FC's on Helix. But I also noticed that I no longer have the green bars on the month view of the stock calendar. Any days that have events attached have the number in bold, but there is so little difference in the darkness that I didn't even notice it at first. Any way to get the bars to show up in color?

I also updated manually on Tuesday night and my calendar is showing blue bars along with the numbers in bold.

I had a years worth of appointments on my calendar. After the update they are no longer color coded. If I drill into the date that I know I have the appoinments on I see the appointment but not on the month view. If I create a new appointment on my phone then it shows it in blue. The majority of my "appointments" are 7 days long. the short ones that are only an hour in length seem to show up in blue on the month view.
ANy ideas how to fix this?
