Thanks yurdle that worked. I am at the android system recovery. Where do I go from here? Reboot system now? Apply sd card:update.zip? wipe data/factory reset? wipe cache partition? wipe baseband data?

Try factory reset...then reboot.

I had this happen to me today. Only way to get out of the boot loop was to hard reset. I looked for an hour on how to manually get into recovery. Fyi, for the evo and Cm7 boot loop, put in battery, hold power and volume down button to get into cwm.

When I do all of this, the phone still does not go pass the Motorola sign. What else can I do?
