Stuck on Android is Upgrading: Starting Applications

Maybe it was a hardware problem. You went through all the same steps I would've done if I was in your shoes.

Now that you got SS3 with Eclipse and AOKP, I'm thinking of taking the plunge. I'm just not motivated enough to start from scratch when I have Eclipse running perfectly.

Yeah what kills me is that the phone still communicates with my PC so I refuse to call it bricked. But now it's more of a long term project. Every time someone has some new idea, I try it, but to no avail.

I think that some part of the phone memory is with errors that RSD or the ICS Tool cannot erase. I dont know if it exist some box or some diagram to do a testpoint to erase all the memory and do a fresh install.
I did every steps and flashed many times the phone with no luck. I give up

What I remember of jumping leak to leak it flashes 219, 217 kernel, then 217, so it is not flashing the same things .

it's worth a try, nothing else worked.

I give up, i tried everything with no success. This is not my first motorola phone and i unbrick many phones but with this nothing works.
Like said strakajagr i think in hardware problem on memory.

believe me you run the unstuck ics to flash the kernal and the sbf will work then. follow my guide http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-4-roms/212634-simplified-ics-6-16-217-update-guide.html

hints/tips
to enter fastboot hold down power and both vol keys, when menu appears use vol- to scroll and vol+ to select
to reset phone hold power and vol- for like 4 seconds

0 factory reset, to do this hold down power and both vol keys, when menu appears use vol- to scroll and vol+ to select recovery
1 Download everything (remember to uninstall safestrap before you start and to charge up your battery as well!)
2 Fastboot install 219 with restore tool or sbf file(erase data for best results... i know this sounds wrong)
3 use unstickics tool and fastboot install kernel with 217 (let it reboot once when done)
4 install 217 via sdcard, if that wont work sbf it

I do that but when i went to the recovery open the flashboot failure. The recovery didnt load because the flash process finish with errors.

then skip that step
install moto drivers
enter fastboot hold down power and both vol keys, when menu appears use vol- to scroll and vol+ to select fastboot
fastboot 219 with this and this use option 1 which will delete your data (dont use rsd ) heres the thread for that tool http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-4-hacks/212307-droid-4-utility-updated.html
fastboot 217 kern with unstuckics

fastboot 217 kern with unstuckics
fastboot 217 with rsd

With the tool fails in the same steps but finish like rsd. When the phone boot appear directly in fastboot fail and some CG errors, Webtop, etc. The unstuck tool erase the Fasboot error but the same errors in CG.

OK I'm trying to follow this so I can try again to fix my old phone.

How do you flash to 219 (GB) when you're already running 217 (ICS). The most current version of the ICS update tool (options 11 and 12) doesn't give you the option for 219 (GB). I'm willing to flash back to this and then use Unstick ICS but I need you to explain how to get 219 on there first. Thanks in advance.

Well assuming the only way to flash 219 was to put the 219 files in the files folder in the ICS Utility tool folder, then this still doesn't work. I flashed 219 (not without a couple errors) I unstuck with UnstickICS to 217 kernel. Then I installed 217 via the SD card. Still no dice. Same old result. Successful install and black screen after the motologo.
