Stuck trying to backup with CWM

so rooted my d2g with z4root. installed koush bootstrap and i bootstrap recovery then go reboot recovery to make a back up. i hit backup and it gets to backing up system and itll get stuck on some file and just freeze. ive let it sit for 30 mins and it wont move. i did a full wipe and uninstalled cwm by deleting the logwrapper and changing the other logwrapper.bin to just logwrapper and deleting the hijack file too. i still cant make a back up. can someone please help a noob d2g user? im pro with the og droid but new to this lol
