SwiftKey X and the RAZR

Yeah I tried Swift Key X as well and found I type much faster and more accurate with the stock keyboard so I am back using that.

Interesting. I found just the opposite. Glad you have a choice. Sometimes it's fun to switch back and forth.

Yeah I have tried going back to it a couple times and still end up going back to stock. It is a nice app with tons of options, maybe I need to tweak it some more.

I uninstalled it and the reinstalled it on the RAZR, and while it's a little better than it was before, it still does things like delete words randomly as I type.

I was thinking about this and wanted to mention, in case you weren't aware, that SwiftKey will delete a word if you back swipe. So possibly your finger slightly dragged backwards across the keypad?

If you give it a try ever again, just something to think about.

I loved swift on my DX but its crazy and slow on my razr but the stock is great on my razr! I can basically bang my head on the key pad and get the sentence I want. Lol

Yes, I thought about that, so I set swiftkey up so that I would need to swipe at least 50% of the screen in order to prevent that...

I had to uninstall it from my RAZR. The lag was very annoying. And typing was just very inaccurate overall. If I typed a word like "name", it would only register "nme" or "ame" or a combination of the those. It never could catch all the strokes I typed. I noticed if I turned haptic feedback off it was slightly better, but still not as good as Swype or Stock keyboard. I hate it, because I LOVED SwiftKey X on my old Droid Incredible. I guess I got my moneys worth over the past year or so. Time to move on.

I really like slide IT

Who here is using SwiftKey X on their RAZR? I had it on my Bionic and had issues with it (words disappearing as I type a lot of times) and saw that SwiftKey is thy their app wasn't working correctly on the Bionic, and but never actually said if they eventually fixed it.

Now, I'm having the same issues on my RAZR, and which is understandable since the RAZR and the Bionic are similar...

Anyone else here with experience with SwiftKey on their RAZR?

How long is the trial period for swifykey x?

ETA: Nevermind. Found it. It's one month.

i bought it when it was 10 cents... glad i only paid ten cents. i hated it. it worked fine if my battery was above 80% and was kinda cool, but it started lagging more and it would run slow, the thing i hate the MOST about this app is it dosnt record your "keystrokes" while it is lagging and derping out. so it would record about half of the keys i hit causing rambling nonsensical sentences. i didint like the keys either but that was my personal preference, with the stick keyboard the keys were much larger, and actually recorded key strokes if it happened to lag. the auto correction on the stock keyboard is pretty good, i was satisfied with it. and a small issue was the lack of themes they had, wish they would have more.
my brother has been using swiftx keys for the past 5 months and he has had to clear his history/memory cause every time he pressed space it would suggest something he didnt want. so the word prediction got over used, and was predicting words you really didnt want it to predict. clearing the memory every month resolved that.

You can also change the settings so that you have to press the actual word instead of just space to add the predicted word

I bought SwiftKey X during the 10cent deal. I have noticed it lagging every so often and deleting words (usually when type too fast and press two letters at the same time) and it taking longer than it should to disappear after using it. I feel like it has been acting better after the last update though. I had almost been fed up with it, then i went back to my stock keyboard and found that I really like being able to swipe across keyboard to delete a word. And the predictions have been really helpful. I like being able to switch back and forth between keyboards but i usually end up sticking with SwiftKey

I've used Swiftkey X both on RAZR MAXX (currently) and Gnex (previously) and both versions behaved the same. Great predictions, I loved that you can configure long-tap time (the time interval to use the character instead of letter). But the lag is so annoying and even more is the actual key inaccuracy (could be due to lag). What good are predictions if 30% of the time it gets my key wrong? I've used the stock keyboard which gets the key right every time but unfortunately doesn't have the long-press functionality. And I've used the included Swype version (just for typing, not swyping) and it gets the keys correctly and is great but the long-press interval isn't configurable and is just so long - slows down everything.

Oh and voice on Swiftkey X is so bad - isn't there a way to tell all keyboards to use Google voice analysis instead of their own?? Lame.

i had probs with swiftkey on my bionic too (i know, it's a shocker), but it works perfectly on my GN. lagged like crazy on the droid inc i had though. seems like lack of a skin is the key....

anyone enable the arrows on swift key? they come in handy....
