Switching to Cyanogen

UD vs Cyanogen vs BB

Ultimate Droid
UD had some (a lot) of Cyanogen's code.
UD is themed, choppy, and not my cup of tea.
UD has an overclock kernel at install.
Easy install (ROM Manager)
Not a lot of customization other than what it comes with.
*What base is it?*

Cyanogen
Custom 3D launcher.
Vanilla-y base (no major theme, aside from the rounded status bar)
Blazes like fire.
Easy use/Customization (ROM Manager)
A bajillion themes
Largest fanbase of any ROM, and is on like, every device.
Updated Frequently
Not ugly.
ESE81 Base

Bugless Beast
Vanilla-y Base
ChevyNo1/Adamz Kernels.
Easy install (ROM Manager)
Lastest officially released version on ESE53 Base;
Unofficial on ESE81.
I like it, but not as much as Cyanogen.

Personal opinions, CyanogenMod 5.0.6.2, Bekit 1.2ghz, and various performance tweaks ;)

if I switch to cryanogen, will I still have use of Apps2SD? Sorry I only rooted about 2 months ago and was thinking of trying something else out... but since I've only had UD I wasn't sure.

Thanks in advance!!!

ESE81 (it says, but not really.) Base

Okay, it is a Fake ESE81, I'll admit my flaw here.
build.prop is edited to fake the version number as ESE81.

I just made the switch over from UD (was running 9). I must admit this is actually smoother that UD was, which is hard to understand since 9 was so smooth for me.
I loaded up jrummy blue on top and it's awesome. the LV 1.1GHz kernel that it comes with is great. I was never able to use chevy's LV kernels. battery life seems improved.
Only issue is that I get 'launcher 2' errors, force closes. I think I want just regular Helix.
Question, is the Helix in the market compatible?

Helix 1 and 2 both work in 5.0.6.2. [=

Test them, but don't default one until you are sure they won't bail on you.

beat ya to it :p

I had poor battery life with Jrummeys blue theme with LV 1.1 . Went back to Vanilla CM with p3droid 1.2 GHz kernel overclocked to 900 Mhz. Have been using the phone heavily mostly browsing for the past 3-4 hrs after charging it fully. Battery is a t 70% now with 33c battery temp

I really liked Jrummy's skin but my phone didn't like it

Jrummy's Remix is a lot more than just a theme, there are a lot of "extras" in the ROM that are spliced in from other ROMs. It's a very good concept but it's still not completely refined yet. I've used it before and I may switch back when version 1 hits the tubes.
