I would avoid that simply for the reason that should Swype decide to take legal action they can likely make that poster submit a list of all users that have d/l it... Not to mention there's no telling if that poster has "added" anything to the .apk (i.e. maybe something to collect data).
How did they put it on the market? I thought apps had to be approved together on there? Not as strictly as Apples, but I thought there was some process...
Swype is (or will be) highly pi$$ed... They have already begun to ask developers/chefs to remove Swype from their ROMs so they have NO intention of keeping it readily available (though they have done so politely and personally from what I've read). I have a feeling it's only a matter of time before they ask for it to be removed from this and other sites. Those that have the .apk should be sure to save (archive) it.
well i think it is a great keyboard and i did keep it, but i injured my thumb playing basketball. "swyping" around kinda makes it hurt so maybe that's why i went away from it.
I feel like i type faster with two thumbs instead of swyping too. Maybe i'll go back to it eventually, but for now, i still love the stock keyboard

lol no really. My right thumb got bent back further than it should around Thanksgiving and it's hurt ever since, i should really get it checked out.
Anyway, swype is a great app, and i loved using it for about the month that i did. However, when i tried to type on it and not Swype, it wouldn't respond as quickly as the android keyboard. when i tried to type at the speed i usually do it would read it as a swype and put in another word. I wish it could swype and type at a user speed instead of a "Fixed" speed.
Don't count on it... Google is keeping their inclusions to a minimal (even basic features that SHOULD be included in the phone/OS aren't) relying instead on the 'marketplace' to fill in the gaps... and I really don't see them paying to use anything like this seeing that they won't even pay for decent maps to support their Nav...
Swype is going after OEMs so it would likely be up to Motorola not Google (seeing that is was Samsung on not M$ they bought the license to put it on the Omnia2). So we could see it via that route. It could end up being something that the OEMs use to get a position over the competitors (like the various UIs now).
