System update?

I am rooted. I have tried to update while in root and also unrooting first through Root Keeper, still no update. In the past with previous updates I don't recall needing to unroot prior to the update. The update always took root away.

The update still failed. When I tried powering on while holding down X, all I got was the Android by an exclamation point, no menu or option to clear cache.

at that screen you need to press both, volume buttons, to continue to, android recovery

this update likely blocks, using SFBs
So becareful, till someone tests that, or new SBF is leaked

if you altered system files, or stock apps, that can cause update to fail
or maybe more likely, they are not pushing update to your phone yet, to save bandwith

The update was pushed to my phone. I have changed my fonts, boot animations & logo. Possibly the failure lies within those changes.

I would suggest not updating, because of, Rooting and SBFing issues
if you want to block, rename update apk?, may have to look it up

if you want update, best bet is to SBF

edit:stop update

Rename /system/app/BlurUpdater_VZW.apk to BlurUpdater_VZW.apk.bak.
Rename /system/app/BlurUpdater_VZW.odex to BlurUpdater_VZW.odex.bak.

That will definitely do it.

I recently SBF'd using the leaked GB SBF (big thanks for that, made life a lot easier), and was spending the past 30 mins or so wondering why every root tool I downloaded wasn't working. The more you know!

I hope a new root exploit is found soon...

EDIT: Apparently there is no exploit as of now, but it is possible to preserve an existing root via an app called RootKeeper (on the market). There's a post about it on the first page of this thread.
...glad I didn't get to re-installing all my apps... time to SBF again... bollocks.

4.5.601 can be rooted, with pete's or superoneclick

EDIT: Yup, stuck at bootloader. Brickosaurus. Going to the VZW store now.

Well, that's unfortunate as I've already accepted the OTA. I'm glad I have an upgrade this month.
