Tbh d2 2.3.20

I have just confirmed the 2.3.20 full sbf will unbrick an R2D2! Lost all the inane Star Wars stuff, but I have copies...

Thank you TBH!!! Thank you TBH's sources!

Nice! Thanks for the heads up.

I can't really test these things properly because I have a dev phone and can load anything on it without fear of bricking, and we don't have any stock D2 to work with.

You can use the odex update and keep root...any root programs need to have cache and data cleared after reboot to make them run right again...at least I had to.

I'm told the odex update doesn't include the baseband and kernel update. Is that true? If so, can someone post a full 2.3.20 update that includes the baseband and kernel upgrades in the update.zip format?

There is someone who posted a blur.zip file in the OTA updates thread in the general discussion which other people say is the full ota with updated baseband and kernel. What I need to know is that since I already installed the odex update, how can I update using this full ota from the odex so that I can have the updated baseband and kernel?

the full sbf should have it but I am not 100% sure about that.

According to CellZealot at MyDroidWorld: "Only the official OTA update.zip has the kernel and baseband update included.

We posted this SBF to help people recover bricked phones.

The actual OTA update.zip has been pulled from cache and posted on the web if you don't want to wait for it.

I think it's on DF somewhere in one or more of the threads about the official 2.3.20 release."

Since I already upgraded using the odex update, I tried updating again using standard recovery mode and using the file from here, the blur.zip and renaming it update.zip and deleted the other odex update before loading that update file on my sd card. Tried updating, it gives me an error (I don't remember exactly what it said, but it was on the step of validating the update).

Is there any way of resolving this so I can get the updated baseband and kernel?
Thanks

Please go to MDW forum for all TBH files. They maintain those files and if a change need to be made you will know asap because you went to the source. Please do not copy their file links to the files they have here. We want members to know asap of any changes that may take place before putting a file on their phone. If the Op of the MDW 2.3.20 triple threat thread needed to make changes he will only note that there and not on any thread that is a copy of that page.
Thanks for understanding.

Why did my dialer get jacked up? And Camera not working

Ok guys I installed this version. everything seems to be working alright. but now my dialer seems to be jacked up.

also the camera is not working either.. any help would be great.

hey guys.. i just tried using rdlite and the full sbf file on my D2 running liberty 1.5 and my phone is bricked. it keeps boot looping..is there any way to fix this or is my phone just junk at this point?.. please any info on this would be greatly appreciated..thanks.. and the reason for me trying to get the sbf on my phone was because i was gonna sell the device and get a DX just in case anyone wants to know. which i know some might.lol..they didnt want a rooted phone..lol.. thanks again.

oh also.. if there is no fix for the boot loop.. what are the chances that if i send it in for a replacement it will be found that it was rooted?....

It's not bricked, it just needs to be sbf'd properly. Boot loop not really a problem. Lots of info out there to help you...

whew.. ok thanks.. at least that some relief... now can anyone tell me what i may have done wrong?..i installed the moto drivers.. ran rdlite and then chose the sbf file it says it completed but i have a boot looping phone now...tried to run it again and same result.. any help would be greatly appreciated..having to use my wifes 2yr old voyager atm..lol.. amazing i used to think the voyager was a bulky phone..lol..D2 is a brick (no pun intended) by comparison..lol.

Well since youre in bootloop that is ok, first if you have any recovery you should try it. Go to your clockwork and try wiping data and cache then reboot, this will only work if you tried flashing the sbf over something else. If this doesnt work or you dont have clockwork, you need to find a different sbf because the one you have is apparently wrong. Are you rooted already or are you trying to root?
