Here's the deal, HookedonHionics,
4G is NOT the standard, as it's not available in most areas, and NOT available in YOUR area. The iPhone 4 runs on 3G, the iPhone 5, which will be release this summer, may run on 4G, but since 4G won't be available in your area until 2013, it won't do YOU any good. Unless Apple comes up with some cool new whazoo feature (like Facetime or Retina Display) on their iPhone 5.
So what you're really asking is, whether or not you should wait for the iPhone 5. Technology keeps advancing and most of the time you won't have the latest and greatest gadget, so just be content with that you have, or about to get.
Bottom line is, there is NO logical reason for YOU not to get the iPhone 4. So go for it, take the plunge.
