You shouldn't have any issues what so ever and yes, probably not over the air update. Just go to Mototola Canada and download Milestone update in support. Have not checked Telus support so they may have it too.

Protected apps from what I understand are copy protected or something similar. Google has a whitelist and the build has to be on there to see protected apps and other stuff apparently. I can not get one version of bTunes, TV.com and Safe Neighborhood now...

I've installed 2.1 update on my Milestone and WOW! I didn't lost anything from before update.

Updated mine this evening 9 home screens, live wallpaper (which aren't really impressive), facebook contact sync (which wasn't working on 2.01) and better battery life (been playing around with wallpapers, ringtones, games and app market and still 70% battery)...AWESOME!!!

What?! you mean the 2.1 update for the milestone doesn't have it?!

Is this because the voice to text only works in english, and because the telus milestone is a canadian phone, if it doesn't have french as well as english, they won't give us the feature?

If its there i cant find it for the life of me! you reason could be why - strange decision though!

no new launcher, no date and weather widget (a la HTC), a little bit of a letdown if you ask me.
Does anyone have a complete list of 2.1 updates the milestone is missing?

Same here. It has to do with our firmware being so new and Google not having it on their whitelist yet to download protected apps from the market. All we can do is sit and wait for Google to get a move on.

Does anyone know exactly how/who to contact at Google to get this build added to the whitelist?

I have a Telus Milestone, unlocked on AT&T and have lost Paid Apps access with the 2.1 update. I also do not see the "Voice Search" function that I thought was supposed to be included in 2.1 as well.

I haven't got the slightest idea who at Google to contact. You could try posting at the android market help page. Here is a link: Android Market Help

No voice search here either. I downloaded the apk from somewhere on these forums and installed it manually though. PM me and I can email it if you would like.
