Text Message Warning(?) Sign

For starters, this phone is a whole lot smarter than I am, so with that in mind:

I'm trying to send a text message, when I hit send I still have the envelope icon with a red triangle.

I'm clueless

I believe that means it did not send....do you have very good service where you are?

Pull down the notification bar, there should be an option to resend.
