Text messages sent to random numbers NOT contacts!

I've had this happen twice in past month....Verizon sending refurb x

Anyone else have this happen?

I'm with a regional carrier Cellularsouth. I have also had this issue on my Motorola milestone A854(rebranded original droid) Verison owns most of the towers here

The only reason I knew was someone sent me a text back asking who I was and I never tested that number....kinda scary

I sent a truely horrific pic to a buddy in an mms msg (as a jk), 10 minutes later I get a text from a stranger "who is this?" I never answered...

Reboot is a temporary fix. I seriously think its a network issue

I know it was a known Froyo issue on a few other phone models, but I hadn't heard of it happening on the X. Supposedly the issue had been fixed with the Gingerbread update. (Do a quick Internet search for it, and you'll find lots of comments about it ...)

I did...but found nothing on sending to random numbers...everything is about messages sent to contacts
