I just logged into DF to start this thread.. lol.. YES.. I am having the same issue. So is my friend in another state. Both with TB.. Seems to be issue with TB right now. Yesterday my friend was having issue and I wasn't. Today I am and now his are sending to me 5 times instead of just 3. I think it is network issues with Verizon. I know they were having issues yesterday. Growing pains of a new fancy 4G network I am assuming right now.. Still looking into it. Did a battery pull and seems to have fixed for now.. Anyone else have any ideas please share..
EDIT:
Looking online form past phones and similar issues people are saying network issue, unless you are running a second msg app that could be duplicating.. seems the fix across the board is to reset device.. aka battery pull since we can't *228 with 4G phones.. will see how it goes. Right now working fine since my battery pull..
K for those coming here try this and let me know..battery pull.. wait 30 seconds and then place battery back in boot and test it out.. let me knoiw what you guys find .. i am no way a tech, but it seems if you do this it will reset the network and then the issue is solved.. for now at least.
EDIT: BTW when I did my battery pull my phone was on.. so not sure if turning phone off then pulling will do same or not.. Just trying to help out and share what seems to be working for me..
2nd edit.. Still working fine. Seems to go back to network issue ith Verizon. Reset the network with battery pull and all is well..
I was having the same problem last night,,now it seems everyone I text aren't getting my text messages.ugh...want to love this Fone,,,but it seems to have its problems.
Have not had that issue, but looking around forums it seems to be same fix.. Reset the network. Battery pull wait a few seconds reboot. Growing pains of the LTE network being so new.. Can't guarantee that fixs it, but all things point to that.
At first I didnt care for the screen. The whites werent as "white" as they were on my D1, they were appearing yellow washed. The D1 was brighter and more visible in the sun as well. The res didnt impress me either, browsing on it was no better than browsing on my D1. Much better experience with a higher res like my itouch naturally.
The battery, yes, definitely terrible. The worse battery in a phone Ive ever owned, even without use it was terrible.
The deal breaker in the end was the service. I live in Columbus Ohio (state cap) and its simply terrible compared to my D1. In my officer I literally could not even get txts or phone calls in the SAME spot my D1 use to sit. It would sit for almost the entire day without a data connection, and most of the time suddenly get 5+ txts after it came back into service. My D1 is sitting on the desk now again and works perfect.
I think they simply rushed into releasing this thing way too fast. The phone sending out 3-5txts of the same msg to people was annoying as well.
As for something better.. I hope they release something that makes me want to stay with Android based phones.. Ill definitely be looking at the iphone 5 when its released at this point :/ Maybe the Bionic will come out by the time 2011 ends????? lol Who knows!
I hear ya biglipps66.. Can't blame you for that. Yeah I got spoiled with my D1 and even now I told my kids they could use it for a wifi device, but I still have it locked away for mysef.. Sorry the TB didn't work for you. There is def more coming in the pipeline. For me though here in FL things are great outside the network issues that Verizon has had the past couple days.. Wish you the best in the future and for Android sake I hope they can give you something to keep you away from the fruit.. LOL.. nah just picking.. if fruit works for someone and it makes them happy then that is what it is.. heck my wife just upgraded her phone and she is happy as a clam with her LG Octane...
A lot of our issues are due to issues with Verizon's network. I do wish they had ironed these things out before releasing the phone. It would have prevented most of the bad name the t-bolt is getting. I am sure over the past couple of days thousands of people have returned our phones due to the faulty network.
Most people are not like us. They dont know how to search and find the simple solutions to the problems.
I also think verizon should have notified all of us they were having network issues.
