[ROM] The CM7 Gingerbread ROM (CM4D2-GB) is now ready for prime time!

Ok serious issue now with my D2. Everything was going fine until the other day I decided to update my rom being as though it's been a few versions since the one I originally put. Everytime I update the nightly I get stuck with the red M and then I have to sbf and do this long ass process again of getting back to my cyanogen backup. I don't understand what is causing this to occur each and everytime I want to update to a new nightly. Is it something special I need to be doing or no?

How are you flashing it? Through recovery, ROM Manager, ROM Toolbox...?

Almost sounds like the battery went bad. It would say "cannot program" if the battery level is too low.

If you know anyone else with a D2 or D2G, see if you can borrow their battery and see if it works. Other than that, I have no idea.

Check if you can, your mode...ie. Usb debug,pc mode, etc..You may have had it to sync and lost charge...Usually the battery is low when bootloader says this...

We might be able to understand you if you use real English instead of broken words. "bac n da day" means nothing. "back in the day" is real words.

To answer @havens I am using ROM manager and I also tried to do it manually and still no luck. @ @droid2drummer I didn't wipe the data and cache at first because I didn't think I had too since it was just an update but I also tried wiping it and still no luck. I have sbfed about 4 times already this morning and still can't get off the 10-19-11 version of cm7.

Now I'm on my rooted gingerbread and I can't even get into recovery mode via rom manager or manually with the power+x. I have never dealt with something so frustrating that as soon as I can get my 10-19-11 backup im not even going to waste my time with the nightlies...

You're right, you shouldn't have to wipe data. You should wipe cache and dalvik cache, but nothing else is necessary.

Check the MD5 sum to make sure that it downloaded correctly. It kinda sounds like the file is bad. If you've had this problem with other nightlies (which I think I remember talking you, or someone else, through something similar before) it may be something you're doing wrong in the process of flashing. Idk what you could be doing wrong off the top of my head though.
