The complete how-to

Hey guys,

Sorry you're having so many problems....maybe you might wanna refer to other guides for these operations....I'm saying this because I honestly have no clue as to how to help any further on a forum, I mean I've written the guide as simple and as easy as I could possibly put it...and I really don't know how to elaborate on the subject anymore than what I have. Just take it slow, concentrate, and follow every little detail of the instructions no matter how minor they may be. With this said, good luck and happy DROIDING!!!:icon_ banana::icon_ banana::icon_ banana:

Just skipped the final 2 step as it was only renaming previous backups. Hooray it isnt a brick

I installed the Motorola 4.2.0 Driver with MotoConnect* (for 32-bit versions of Windows®) , but I cannot find the "android" folder in my C drive. I have tried searching for it as well, and have no luck in finding it.

I have a Motorola folder in my Program Files folder, but there are no folders in there named Android.

I do have a MotoConnectService folder though inside the Motorola Folder.

How do I continue with this?

Thanks in Advance

i only found the android folder under the "documents and settings" folder...all users....administrator. But upon opening the Android folder it gives only 1 folder called AVD....and its empty.
I searched around and found the motorola folder with a folder inside it with TOOLS. is that the folder im needing to copy the link onto PATH for???
thanks

You need to find the android-sdk folder. In this folder is where you will find the tools folder

oh ok got it. I was having a blonde moment there.

and just 1 more question. I read how to do the backup of the system...but how can I make a backup of the original droid system just in case something goes wrong? or would that be in the power up screen with X and turning it on...i think it was the 2nd choice of .sdcard/update.exe I havent copied the one you posted over so that was default on there...so would that stay and be the one I used if i needed to go back to stock...say if I had to take the phone into verizon

Im not sure what exactly backs up to the oem droid system. I think its sprecovery. there are guides here that you can follow to revert you back to stock if you needed to.

Between this thread and your other thread I wouldn't root your phone. You aren't reading the full instructions, you aren't doing your research, and you said yourself you have no idea what you're doing.

Why take the chance of messing something up?

Either take a step back and read every inch of every thread out there first and educate yourself, or don't do it at all.

This isn't me being mean, this is me doing you a favor.

OK I figured everything out except the very end now. put the rom on the card and at
