The Complete Jellybean Thread

I am pretty sure there isn't a odex file for slacker. Try just using a root explorer and copy-paste the apk to the system/app folder.

After looking at the error message again when I tried that, I realized something. The apk is actually named com.slackerradio.apk, where the JB Update is looking for SlackerRadio.apk... I'm going to try to rename it to just SlackerRadio.apk and see if that fixes this stupid problem.

Alright, I tried that, and this is the exact error I'm getting.

Verifying current system...
assert failed: apply_path_check("/system/app/SlackerRadio.apk", "d7471c03d7eced6ad51ce279aadec0cbb6d6e18b",
"ee1f4b2d6958d622ce87d3f79d041a0abe0f3e21")
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(status 7)
Installation aborted

what the.. lol. huh?

Alright, so here's what I'm doing. I merged your folder with mine, so everything that I was missing will be in the folder. Once it's finished, I'll reboot into stock recovery (never installed a recovery or roms) and attempt to flash the JB update file again. Fingers crossed!!

Oh crap I just realized those were GB files....sorry man. You will probably need to use rsd lite and the sbf or the ICS tool. Again sorry about that.

Uploading the JB system/apps now. Maybe you can use from there.

Figures that would be why my phone crapped out lol. I managed to use RSD Lite and get it back to ICS, now I just need to boot into recovery and install the update, and I need to root it again.

I got the OTA update at about 3:30 this morning. So far I like it, and the phone seems to run faster too. One thing I just now noticed is when hitting shift to type a capital letter or a symbol, you have to hold the shift button while you hit the other. Like if I want to type a capital I in a sentence, I have to hold shift while I hit I.

Everything working smoothly, updated to JB, and now rooting the phone so I can install Titanium Back up and restore everything back in Jelly Bean goodness! Thanks again everyone for the help!

I bricked my phone on Wednesday. I stupidly installed the update on 15% battery. I had the phone plugged into a charger during the update but turns out the charger was dead. I'm waiting on a Motorola Factory Cable so that I can use Fastboot to try to restore the phone.

However - since I was about 90% done with the Jelly Bean update when the phone shut off, will I be able to Fastboot ICS? Or am I bricked until JB Fastboot files are released?

I tried to restore my superuser using Voodoo Rootkeeper. It put the superuser file back, but TitBU fails to gain root access. When I go back into Voodoo Rootkeeper, there is no option to remove the current superuser file. Is there any way to do this without SBFing?

Thanks. That did the trick. Is it normal to have a Superuser and SuperSU side by side in the system tray?

At any rate, Jelly Bean seems smooth. I ran into a bug with Dolphin freezing when I tried to enter an address, but Dolphin has done that in the past. SwiftKey also crashed when I tried to edit my status in IM+ Pro, taking the IM app down with it.

Other than those two things, it seems good so far.
