Had a 71 Torino with a 429 Cobra Jet and Hurst 4 speed. Got 1 ticket going 120+ in a 55, only kept it for 1 year.

Got pulled over after the "airplane" caught me while coming back from Palm Desert, had the speedo tapping the right side which topped out at 120...
CHP officer was awesome, his son had one too, we talked for almost a half hour along side the road about the cars...
When he asked how fast I was going, I said 65...
Which was the speed I was going when I noticed the flashing lights way back in my rear view mirror...
He said with a chuckle, "you were going much faster than 65...."
But, He wrote the ticket for 65(speed limit 55)
He said as he gave me the ticket, that he'd have let me go with a warning, but, pointing in the air, they got you...
Kept it on and off for 5yrs, sold to cousin midway...
Sold it for $2500 in 90... Meh

Saw the same at Barrett Jackson a few years back... $70K.. Was a numbers matching full restoration... They weren't worth anything like that in the 80's...
