I mean the are the charging cables gna be the same for both the galaxy nexus and the SGll. Also will the nexus be faster than the SGll?

Not sure about the charging cable, but as far as speed, both devices will be very similar.

Processors in each:
  • Verizon Galaxy Nexus: Omap 1.2ghz
  • At&t SII: Exnyos 1.2ghz
  • Tmobile SII: Snapdragon 1.5ghz
  • Sprint SII: Exnyos 1.2ghz
Technically speaking the processor in the Nexus is probably the lowest performer out of all these, BUT it is no slouch. The Snapdragon has the fastest clock speed, but people rave about the new Exnyos processors. Keep in mind, the Nexus processor is underclocked as is, and has the potential to clock up to 1.5ghz with kernel enhancements. Really, you can't go wrong with any variant of the SII or the Nexus. They're all awesome phones.

Better is kind of subjective. The Nexus and its OS were built around its processor. At these speeds, if the phone is optimized, you shouldn't really be able to tell much. Like Truss pointed out... you should be able to OC the Nexus to 1.5.

is it hard overclocking android devices? i'm familiar with webos where you just go to preware (that's their hombrew (free) market) search for a kernel and click "install."

Thanks for this post! Good info...do you guys know of somewhere where I can view side by side specs of the "top" upcoming phones? (RAZR, Bionic, Prime, Rezound etc?) I, like a lot of people, am nearing my upgrade time with VZW, and while I'm excited about the new phones coming soon, I'm a bit overwhelmed and would like to see some comparisons. I realize I can probably compile something myself, but if the work has already been done...

Thanks!

Choosing a new phone to replace my OG Droid is proving to be immensely difficult.

I know what you mean. For me it was going to be the thunderbolt, then I decided to hold off till bionic, now I'm waiting on the nexus.

I still haven't decided what to do with my upgrade that I've been sitting on since February.
