The Official 'I just got my Droid Turbo 2' Thread!

I (almost) just got mine yesterday. Went to my local store last night but they sold their last 2 earlier that day. So, mine is on order. It will be replacing a Moto X 2014.
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it as much as I am enjoying mine. It's a great phone! [emoji106]

Made the switch to Moto from a Note 4. Some of the buttons and software (no close all button to close all open windows at one time) are taking awhile to get used to. The camera is awesome! The speed amazing and the only thing I had to do for my music library was move my sd card from the Note 4 to the T2. Done! Thanks Sammy for taking that away from me....your loss not mine

Congrats on the new phone! I love mine, awesome device. I have a Samsung for a work phone and I am always looking for the volume buttons on the right side. [emoji3]

@Mike.757 congrats on the new T2. Once you get soft/hardware down it will be fluent :) I use Greenify to hibernate/close most of the running apps. The SD slot was a big piece of this phone for me. I've found myself snapping more pics than ever just to see how well the camera does in different situations. Let us know if you need anything

So....I am trading my Turbo 2 for a Note 5. There are several things that concern me and several things that I don't a want to have to get used to. The last Motorola I had (Bionic) had overheating issues. While charging, my Turbo wold get up to 115 degrees and it isn't making me feel comfortable to be experiencing that again. I also had issues with GPS with the Bionic and had issues once with the Turbo. Too many similarities for me. Also, the OS is nothing like touchwiz. Some people don't like touchwiz but I do. I didn't realize how much until I went to a new OS. I miss my home button. I miss the expanded menu (two finger swipe). Finally, Motorola's radios used to be hands down better then everyone else. Not so much anymore. The Note 5 will be here tomorrow and life will be back to normal, I hope.

Mine gets to 117 on the Turbo charger. Only 102 on a wireless charger. I do have some overheating especially when plugged in while using gps in the car. Too late to think about switching for me. Been a good while now. After customization I really like it though. The note 5 is a great device also though. I've been wondering if the screen warranty is still active once lenovo brands everything. Assuming it will be. While really pushing it the battery has gotten up to 127 and cpus up to 190's. Haven't seen any meltdown or solder coming loose posts anywhere yet. Will be seeing you around the community with a note 5 for sure though man

Sorry to see you go Mike. But...we should all have a phone that makes us happy and does what we want it to do. Nothing at all wrong with the Note series, quality devices. I have one (older model) as a work phone. I do not like Touch Wiz, but can see how many would like it if you are used to it. At least you made the decision in time to switch. Enjoy your new Note 5!

I'm with these guys....that temperature is nothing to be concerned about, especially during charging. Typically wireless charging creates much warmer temps than usb charging, so I was surprised to read about @252chevyboyz experience. Irregardless, you have to go with a device that's going to make you happy, and I'm sure the Note 5 will accomplish that. Like you I'm also a TW fan. TW continues to evolve and improve year after year, and really, that's what it's all about. Because in this business if you're not moving forward, your falling behind. Manufacturer's like LG, Sony, Moto (just to name a few) continue to improve year after year by bringing new features to market, and it shows in their sales figures.
Enjoy & good luck with your new device! [emoji106]

@cr6 once I throw her on the charger this evening I'll see if I can't grab a pic with an old phone and post it up. It's a "slow" wireless charger. Best buy didn't have the "fast" wireless chargers when I bought it. It's a Samsung wireless charger. Looking at getting another charger that is a little bit faster but I just pop it on the bedside table at night when I head off to sleep. Be nice if someone would develop a car mount with wireless charging incorporated in it. Wish I had the resources and funds to develop one of them. I'll grab some pics of it after 30min and after 3/4 way through the charge cycle on the wireless charger

Anyone think its worth trying to boot into recovery to clear cache partitions? Assuming it's the process from the T1? I clear it from the storage options in settings but haven't tried booting into recovery. Also is anyone running developer options? If so what did you activate or turn on? Any performance gains from it?

I have not cleared the cache on mine using either option yet, have not noticed any lag or stuttering anywhere. I do reboot every few days though. I did enable Dev Options, but don't really use so not sure about performance differences. To enable go to Settings > About Phone > Tap Build Number multiple times and you will see the popup for Dev Options Enabled.
