Yay, grats to everyone. This thread is actually a little slower than I expected.

Considering pre-ordering today, but I wanted to get the advice of those who do this type of thing frequently...
I'm due for an upgrade on May 13th. My mom's line is upgrade eligible now (and has been for nearly 3 years.) She wants a free iPhone 4, I'm most likely switching to the S4. What's the best route to take? Transfer her upgrade to my line, pre-order now, then give her my upgrade when I come up May 13th? (Keep in mind, my line that comes up on the 13th is the "early" upgrade mark, not the full 24 months), or just wait out my line and pre-order in May?
Preordered for my girlfriend this morning at 8:03ET, she's excited but I'm nervous for a bonky release. For $300 I hope not...which makes me wonder how Mandy got it for $199. They charged me $199+$50 mail in + $30 upgrade fee + tax which rounded out to $300.xx which put her at $96.98/mo payments for the 2gig plan.
It was just laying on my desk when I came to work like three weeks ago. I thought it was odd too, but hey, who am I to question the phone gods?
You can't actually pre-order a phone if your contract date hasn't expired. Some time ago Verizon stopped offering the early upgrade program. Specifically, you now have to be completely expired to be able to upgrade. There is an exception to this in which you can call in to Customer Service and IF you have exceptional payment history, and established service then they can send you a new phone a little early. With this program you still can't do a pre-order phone.
Since you have it in hand, I'm curious on your thoughts. After having (only one each BTW) an OG Droid, DX that I bought used of eBay, and release day Bionic, I'm seriously looking at leaving the Motorola family and moving up to the S4. Will purchase outright to maintain unlimited, and I'm interested in some first party thoughts.
Thanks....
I love the phone. It is snappy, sleek, and sexy. I hated the old Sammy phones, as they had the Samsung chipset which caused poor quality on LTE, etc., but the S4 has the Snapdragon chipset, so that issue is all but dead. I have never been a fan of the Samsung UI, but I am pretty OK with this due to its new features, the layout, and totality of the phone.
I started with a Bionic as well, it was my first LTE device. I loved it as well, but I have zero problems with this. The 13 MP camera is amazing, and it has a super high-end sensor. I would recommend it.
Pulled the trigger
Copier! I got the white too!
