The port of the Gingerbread Keyboard - Force/Closes

If you Don't remove the old keyboard you have to go into settings and select the second keyboard .. if you Don't u will keep getting force closes

I did that and would still get FC after reboots, and would have to select that keyboard again. That's pretty annoying if you ask me lol. I would just delete the old keyboard if you want to keep it. If you change your mind, then re-install the old one and delete the GBKB

same here...

Damn, I tried 3 versions of this and they all have the same bug. When you tap a word you already entered to change it to something else it just inserts the word you select inside the word you already entered. If this is fixed this will be the best keyboard yet. Until then I think I'll probably stick to Swype.

Huh? I tried doing everything I could think of to get what I interpreted you to say is happening. What I'm getting, is that if I type "hello" and then select "hello" the end product looks like "helhellolo" ? Because that's how I read what you said lol. Regardless I don't have a problem with dictionary, or selecting of words.

Yes, that is exactly right. This is a feature that is supposed to work but doesn't. So let's say I am typing and I type "spit" when I meant to type "spot" and keep typing. Then before I send the text I notice the mistake. If I then tap "spit" it brings up options of other words I can change that to. If I then tap "spot" what should happen is it will change "spit" to "spot".

Instead I get "spspotit". Get it?

Ohhh ok. Now I get it. Mine actually doesn't even give the option to change the word when highlighted, after I've moved on from it.

It doesn't have to be highlighted... you must be double-tapping the word. You only tap it once.

Ok I got it now. I always used to double-tap to highlight, then replace the word. I see what you mean now.

You can see how useful this feature would be if it worked, you wouldn't have to worry about accuracy until you are done typing, then you could go back and quickly tap and replace words that were entered wrong. Even with Swype replacing words like this is a 3-tap process, this would be a 2-tap process and wouldn't involve any pop-up dialog boxes.

Works for me but I prefer swype cause I'm lazy and don't like all the keystrokes
