Which "Default Icon" ?
If you say ALL of them..I am gonna reach thru the screen and smack you .....HA HA..Just Kidding
Make a backup, give it a shot and let us know.
If you can give me detailed issues I will try and adjust the Theme for it.

Seriously, theming Icons for the "Masses" is never a good idea. Sure I could do something easily for the native apps, but then every Market app you use or add is gonna look different and out of place....not to mention no matter how I theme the icons a lot of people aren't going to like it...it's a no win situation. The best thing to do is learn you to change those the way you like them, then you can do all of your apps and any you add in the future.

crazy question but HOW DO I INSTALL THESE??? I AM REALLY NEW WITH THIS!! I put one of them in the root of my sd card but WHERE DO I GO FROM THERE????
Theming over FRF84B "stock" or BB v.04 (with other ROMs you may need to wipe data/cache)
Copy the Update version to the root of your SD card.
Rename file to update.zip
Power off and Reboot into SPRecovery: Hold the X button on hard keyboard and hold the Power button for approx 4 seconds. When you see the Motorola Logo you can release both buttons.
Once in SPRecovery use the volume down button to scroll down to "Install" and press camera button.
Then scroll down to "allow Update.zip Installation" and press camera button, menu will "blink".
Scroll down to "Install /sdcard/update.zip (depreciated)" and press camera button again.
When finished the Menu will pop back up.
Then press the Power button twice (should take you back to "Reboot system now", then press camera button.
Phone will reboot, it will boot slow the first time, be patient.

my phone no longer wants to access the recovery menu for some reason. when I turn it on normally it takes a little bit but then boots up fine...idk whats wrong..I just rooted like last night so I'm still very new to all of this. I had to swap out update.zip folders since I obviously cant have two of the same name so idk if I took out the recovery menu ability??? I feel so unorganized. my noob brain aches.

Are you using Rom Manager/clockwork if so, flash alt recovery in Rom Manager, then reboot recovery, if it worked reboot, then you can stay with SPR or flash clockwork again with Rom Manager, then your recovery should be fine again until clocwork updates again.
It's a known Froyo issue

Just tried it on SS4.4 and on two attempts at the update.zip I was only getting the repeat boot screen.
I may give the metamorph a shot next.

thanks the method for the recovery worke but I cant install the theme. it says the installation was aborted. I'm trying to install the Black Glass" 2.2.84b.01 FRF84B MetaMorph Theme Version (normal images and a few XML files only) - OK for all FRF84B Based Deodexed Froyo ROMs:
on bugless beast but its not cooperating with me. I renamed it to update.zip. IS THIS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH BUGLESS BEAST??? I origanlly installe the untouched froyo deodexed rom then installed bugless...idk I wiped the cache and nothing..
I'm not sure if this is becasue of swapping the update.zip(of the acutal rom) and the update.zip of the actual theme in and out is confusing the process, since I cant have two folders named update.zip obviously in my root..
EDIT: hold up I might know what the probelm is. please standby.
